Honor and Appreciation
Honor and Appreciation, today is a Day we set aside to give Honor and Appreciation. I think we should give honor and appreciation every day at any opportunity that we have to say Thank You to the men and women and the families that have lost a loved one, Veterans that have served and Service Members we see everyday. When I am in airports traveling, I try to buy every service member I see a cup of coffee and say “Thank You”. A cup of coffee is a small thing, the the thank you’s should be always there.
When I think of the family members that served so that I can have the freedom to write this post, and make choices for my life every day, Thank You is a small thing. When people make decisions to make life better for others, it benefits us from generation to generation. When we take Freedom for granted, it endangers the sacrifice that has been made, Freedom takes commitment and responsibility. When my son served in the Navy on a Nuclear Submarine, and he was gone for months without any family contact, every day I prayed and was thankful for the safety of all on his boat. My grandfathers service in WW!! has benefitted my grandchildren.
I am grateful, and today I say “Thank You!” with Honor and Appreciation! In Memory!

Memorial Day 2010
My name is Audrey, also known as Jesse Hutton, and I am Robin’s granddaughter. I love to write short stories and have fun with my best mates. My favorite things are soccer, celtic woman, chocolate and sci-fi shows. I hope i’ll be able to post some of my stories and get to know you, hopefully without driving grandma insane.:p
Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Today is a day to remember the men who fought and lost their lives for our country. Most kids around my age just see this day as a vacation day, and think nothing of it, and that is very sad. This is an important day to remember.
Recently at a convention I attended a family was pulling a skateboard around with a little gnome statue holding a mask in its hand, a face of their son, who is currently serving in the army. They said they’re taking pictures of people holding the gnome and sending then to their son, since he was homesick, and they thought it would be a great way to celebrate memorial day. Me and my buddies all took pictures with the gnome, and when we met up with the family later that day they told us they had a total of 486 pictures to send their son.
Boy will he be surprised to find an envelope full of that many pictures!! I hope those will make him smile.
Let us remember our men and women fighting for us. Some may never come back, like many others in the previous wars throughout history. We need to be thankful, for freedom is privilege given to us by God. Many other countries do not have things such as freedom of speech, or freedom from slavery, or freedom from tyrants. Most importantly, the freedom to believe in God and share the gospel with other people. People in China and India do not have those freedoms at all. If those men hadn’t fought in Gettysburg or in WW II, we probably wouldn’t be able to do the things we do today. Every one of those men and women who didn’t come back from those wars were someone’s brother, or someone’s son, or someone’s aunt, or someone’s husband. They fought for future generations, like me. I hope you understand how important our nation’s liberties are.
Peace out and God bless.
Jesse Hutton.
